How to become a member

Both schools and community organisations are encouraged to become formal members of the network.

What does membership involve:

When you become a member you will receive:

  • GTBB Membership wall plaque and logo (GTBB member logo)
  • An annual site visit from an experienced GTBB team member to discuss assistance and requirements of the community / school gardeners
  • 1 professional development session per term for garden coordinators and interested staff
  • Communication sessions with other like minded gardeners – sharing of ideas and inspirations
  • Resources provided such as website, teaching plans, sharing of books etc.
  • Assistance in recruiting volunteers
  • Assistance in obtaining information for newsletters
  • Regular E newsletters

Member schools/organisations will form a two way relationship with the Growing Together Baw Baw Network and will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreeing to:

  • Embed garden project activities in the curriculum as appropriate with integration into a range subjects
  • Commit to undertake roles as described in MOU and include in relevant job descriptions
  • Monitor student participation in the garden activities and resultant educational and wellbeing outcomes
  • Initiate activities and actively share resources - a collaborative partnership approach embedded within policy and procedures
  • Consider representation on the Steering Committee

An annual fee will be charged to schools according to enrolment.
Schools less than 250 enrolled students                        $55
Schools with over 250 enrolled students                        $110
Schools with over 500 enrolled students                        $220

Organisations can also join the network. No membership fee applies to Not for Profit organisations at this stage.  For further information on organisational membership please contact the SFYS coordinator.

Business sponsorship is continually sought to support the project.  A formal Memorandum of Understanding is signed between sponsors and the Steering Committee. This denotes an active membership status with the associated benefits.
