Trafalgar Community Garden
“Where a Town Grows”
The garden is located in Wellington St Trafalgar , at the rear of the Trafalgar Public Hall
The aim of the Garden Group is to build community by sharing the produce we grow.
There are no fences around the garden so the veggies are freely accessible to all.
One of the features is the shipping container upon which a wrap around mural has been painted in a unique “graffiti” style by artist Travis Wiltshire.
The tennis court area has been transformed with 5, 3.6metre wicking beds and 4 potato storage bins transformed into wicking beds, plus a wheelchair friendly raised bed and two small herb beds.
The garden design features raised wicking beds showing great use of recycled materials. The in ground beds feature a concrete cattle trough, which has also been changed into a wicking bed.
Currently we are having decking, a pergola and a roof and water tank being built by Trafalgar Mens Shed, funded by a matching Grant from Baw Baw Shire.
